Responsible Gambling
CookedAF's commitment to responsible play, including how to recognize problem gambling, where to get help, and the tools available to stay in control.

Our Commitment
At CookedAF, we believe that sports betting should be a form of entertainment for adults who choose to participate, never a way to make money, solve financial problems, or cope with stress. We are committed to promoting responsible play and to giving you clear, honest information so you can make better-informed decisions.
It is important to understand what CookedAF is and is not. CookedAF is an informational analytics tool. We compute no-vig (de-vigged) fair odds, expected value (EV), true hit probability estimates, and best-price line shopping across sportsbooks, and we use AI to flag legs that appear mispriced.
CookedAF is NOT a sportsbook, NOT a broker or exchange, and NOT a financial or investment adviser. We accept NO wagers and hold NO customer funds. Any betting you choose to do happens on third-party operators, under their terms and their responsible-gambling programs. Our content is informational only and is not betting, financial, or investment advice.
There is no guarantee of winning. Gambling involves a real risk of loss. EV figures and probabilities shown in our product are model-based estimates, not certainties, and even a positive-EV bet can and frequently does lose.
21+ Only
CookedAF is intended exclusively for adults who are 21 years of age or older and located in jurisdictions where the activities they choose to engage in are legal.
Our service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under the age of 21. We employ an age gate and may take additional steps to confirm eligibility. Sportsbook deep links are geofenced to U.S. states with legal online sports betting.
Underage gambling is illegal and harmful. If you are a parent or guardian who wants to prevent minors from accessing gambling-related content, consider filtering tools such as those offered by organizations like GamBlock or NetNanny, and keep account credentials and payment methods secure. If you believe a minor is using CookedAF, please contact us at support@cookedaf.ai.
Recognizing the Signs of Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can affect anyone, regardless of age, income, or background. It often develops gradually, and the warning signs are not always obvious. Be honest with yourself and watch for the following:
- Betting more money than you can afford to lose, or wagering money meant for rent, bills, food, or other essentials
- Chasing losses — increasing the size or frequency of bets to try to win back money you have lost
- Spending more time or money on gambling than you intended, or repeatedly failing to cut back when you try
- Borrowing money, selling possessions, or lying to family and friends to fund gambling
- Gambling to escape stress, anxiety, depression, boredom, or other problems
- Feeling restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to stop or reduce gambling
- Hiding the extent of your gambling from people close to you
- Neglecting work, school, relationships, or responsibilities because of gambling
- Feeling guilt, shame, or remorse after gambling, but continuing anyway
- Thinking about gambling constantly, or planning the next opportunity to bet
If one or more of these describe you or someone you know, help is available and recovery is possible. You do not have to wait until things reach a crisis point to reach out.
Where to Get Help
If you or someone you care about may have a gambling problem, free, confidential help is available 24/7. You are not alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength.
National Problem Gambling Helpline
Call or text 1-800-GAMBLER (1-800-426-2537). This confidential helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and connects you with trained specialists and local resources.
National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)
Visit ncpgambling.org for information, support, treatment referrals, and resources for individuals and families affected by problem gambling.
Mental Health and Crisis Support
- SAMHSA National Helpline: 1-800-662-HELP (4357) — free, confidential, 24/7 treatment referral and information for mental health and substance use concerns.
- 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: If you are in emotional distress or experiencing a crisis, call or text 988 in the United States. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number right away.
Many states also operate their own dedicated problem-gambling helplines and treatment programs; the resources above can connect you with services in your area.
Practical Tools to Stay in Control
Because CookedAF accepts no wagers and holds no funds, the most powerful account-level controls live with the sportsbooks and prediction-market operators where you actually bet. We strongly encourage you to use them. Common operator tools include:
- Deposit limits — cap how much money you can add to your account per day, week, or month.
- Wager and loss limits — cap how much you can bet or lose over a set period.
- Time limits and session reminders — restrict how long you can stay logged in, or receive periodic alerts about time and money spent.
- Cool-off periods — take a short, temporary break (for example, a few days up to several weeks) during which you cannot bet.
- Self-exclusion — block yourself from an operator's platform for an extended period, often six months, one year, or longer.
State Self-Exclusion Programs
Many U.S. states that regulate online sports betting offer statewide self-exclusion programs administered by gaming regulators. Enrolling typically bars you from all licensed operators in that state for the period you choose. Search for your state's gaming commission or lottery (for example, "[your state] self-exclusion sports betting") or ask the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER for guidance on enrolling. These programs are a meaningful step if you want a firm, enforceable barrier between yourself and betting.
Tips for Staying in Control
If you choose to bet, the following habits can help keep it a form of entertainment rather than a problem:
- Bet only what you can afford to lose. Treat any money you wager as the cost of entertainment, like the price of a movie ticket — money you are fully prepared to never see again.
- Set limits before you start, and stick to them. Decide on a budget of time and money in advance, and do not exceed it, even when you feel confident.
- Never chase losses. Trying to win back money you have lost by betting more is one of the most common and dangerous patterns in problem gambling. A loss is a loss; accept it and walk away.
- Take regular breaks. Step away from betting and from betting content. Avoid betting when you are stressed, tired, upset, or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Don't borrow to bet. Never wager money that is not yours to lose, and never use credit, loans, or funds earmarked for essentials.
- Keep gambling in perspective. It should never be your primary source of income, your way to cope with problems, or the center of your life.
- Remember that no system guarantees a win. Positive EV improves long-run expectations on average; it does not make any individual bet a sure thing, and variance can produce long losing streaks.
How CookedAF Supports Responsible Play
We designed CookedAF to give bettors better information, not to encourage betting more. Our approach to responsible play includes:
- No wagers, no funds. We are an informational tool. You cannot place a bet through CookedAF, and we never hold your money. This structural separation keeps us aligned with giving you honest analysis rather than maximizing your wagering.
- Transparency and honest EV. We show de-vigged fair odds, expected value, and model-based probability estimates, and we are candid about their limitations. Our figures are estimates, not promises, and we say so clearly.
- No guarantees. We never claim that any bet, parlay, or strategy is a sure win. We make clear that gambling carries real risk of loss and that even positive-EV bets lose regularly.
- Age gate. We restrict access to adults 21 and older and are not directed to anyone under 21.
- Geofencing. Sportsbook deep links are limited to U.S. states with legal online sports betting.
- Prominent help resources. We surface responsible-gambling resources, including 1-800-GAMBLER and NCPG, where relevant in our product and communications.
Our goal is to help you make better-informed decisions and to recognize when betting is no longer entertainment.
How to Self-Exclude from CookedAF
If you want to step back from CookedAF, you have options. Note that because CookedAF does not accept wagers, self-excluding from us does not block you from betting on third-party operators — to do that, use the operator and state self-exclusion programs described above.
Opt Out of Marketing
You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message, or by emailing support@cookedaf.ai. You may also adjust communication preferences in your account settings where available.
Restrict or Close Your Account
If you would like to take a break from the CookedAF product or close your account entirely, email support@cookedaf.ai with your request. We can help you deactivate or delete your account in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Privacy Requests
For data-related requests, including access or deletion of your personal information, contact privacy@cookedaf.ai.
If you are self-excluding because gambling has become a problem, we strongly encourage you to also contact 1-800-GAMBLER and to enroll in your state's self-exclusion program and any operator self-exclusion tools, so the barrier extends to the platforms where wagers are actually placed.
